scrub their feet with soap and water with a toothbrush, even go in between their scales and toenails with a toothpick if you have to, to get the dirt out. vasaline on their combs/wattles. a spray of show sheen (horse product) on their back followed by a quick wipe down with a cloth to make them super shiny.

What I do is after I wash them up and all I dont mess with them until the morning they get judged. One thing I do for all birds is to put VetRX or baby oil on the comb, face, wattles, earlobes, and shanks/toes. Make sure you get it on there good because it makes the red look great. I also use a show sheen type stuff on colored birds, I spray it all over them because it makes the hackle and saddle feathers shine on cocks. Be careful when using it on white birds because it acts like a dust magnet. I have had white birds get a grey color when I use sheen on them. If you cant find show sheen at the feed store check walmart. They have hair shine type stuff in the human hair care under ethnic type hair stuff.
