I think I've talked myself into bringing some young birds to sell next Saturday. I will have several Faverolles/Cochin crosses (2 cockerels and a pullet), a Fav/Brahma pullet and a couple of Welsummer/EE cockerels, all will be 10 weeks old. I may also bring a 14 week old EE cockerel that is just gorgeous. If I don't sell the cockerels I'll eat them but they are just too nice looking. I also have a LF White Faverolles cockerel that will be 21 weeks that I could bring if anyone is interested. All of my chickens are friendly yard sharks that think people are just walking treat dispensers! Here are a few pics that I took last week:
This is the purebred Faverolles roo.
Here are some of the babies. The one on the right is a Gold Laced Cochin/Salmon Faverolles cockerel and he is going to be a BIG boy!

This is Oliver, the Welsummer/EE. I have another one with a pea comb but I can't find a picture right now.
*fingers in ears -- eye patches on* I'm not looking lalalalalalalalalala I am not looking lalalalalalala
They are adorable as all get out though
I just went to the drive in to watch Night and Day with Tom Cruise and Eclipse...with DD and the new duckling who has dubbed her "mom" and spends most of the day and night on DD's shoulder or mine in our hair.
It's in the gravel lot next to the actual station. There is some patches of grass but it's mostly gravel. And not much shade.I'm gonna be bringing a 10X10 tent and I recommend everyone bring some kind of shelter.
On a side note I have looked into doing future events at the scott county fair grounds. There is a covered shelter with electric and water. However, I would have to have commitment from folks as there is a much larger fee. But we could reserve a specific day each month for the whole year.
Okay, I think I am going to pick up a cheapie pop up tent....I can use it at home to provide shade for building stuff and will definitely need it this weekend.
I plan on bringing some water, but will there be a hose or spigot available to refill if needed? I assume we could probably use the gas station water?
Other than that....chairs, tent, cages, food, drinks, BIRDS....
I only had one duckie hatch and today is day 31 and I saw no movement last night in the other 6 so I am tossing them today.
Nella did you pick a handsome sweet boy for my little blue band girl?
Sarah...if you want to sell your little orp girl..go ahead because I can get some from you later too being just down the road...I am running tight on quarantine space. Your choice.
I haven't picked one yet. I do have a couple that are a little younger and smaller than the rest. Those are probably the best chance of getting a sweet one. Mr Green band has the most hilarious crow ever. Mr Blue band boy is overly "blue"...his whole head and beard are blue. Most of them aren't banded as I ran out of colors and couldn't find the rest of my zipties that day. When I was locking them up last night, I did notice there was at least one or two "smaller" boys....They are probably a month younger than the others. Same with the girls, I have a couple "smaller" ones. I believe I had 4 that I bought in a later batch than the rest.
Don't forget to bring Cheyenne....I'm bringing the blue roosters! LOL
