Hello Friends, i have a flock of mixed meat turkeys i got from 2 different hatcheries 2 weeks ago. I have them on turkey starter. I did electrolytes the first few days. They are on hemp bedding. I noticed yesterday at a glance a couple were laying down in an odd way(sprawled like when taking a dust bath or sun bathing) when the others were not.- but i was running around irrigating and taking care of everything else. Today those two passed and now half are off balance and lethargic. I cant tell if legs are swollen. Ill post pic and video. I can treat for cocci but didn't know if oxytet would be better? Or other suggestions? The pic with steel trough was all of them before i separated. The black trough is the sick pen..no water because im waiting for treatment plan. I did text my vet but haven't heard back yet..its the weekend. Tyia. Also i attached leg images..

My guess is that they are probably eating the bedding. Make sure they have appropriate sized grit available.
Do you think their crops would be impacted if they were doing that or is there something more subtle resulting from the hemp bedding?

If they are eating the bedding, they cannot digest it without appropriate sized grit in their gizzard.

The impaction doesn't happen in the crop but after it passes through the gizzard and then becomes impacted in the intestines.
