Pouter pigeons

Are pouter pigeons able to eat seeds on their own, or do I have to place seeds inside their beaks?

They eat on their own. There are breeds of pigeons like Ancient pigeons with horrifically small beaks that struggle to eat, but these are pretty rare. Other short-beaked breeds sometimes struggle to feed their young, but I haven’t heard of your more typical pouters and croppers having trouble feeding themselves
