Hi there, I have just returned home to find we have had a power cut for three hrs! So my 15 day eggs in the incubator are stone coldCan someone please tell me if they will be ok?

I agree mine were out on the nest for 2 days . Eggs were ice cold and they still hatched.

It really got me thinking of wild birds and their eggs...If a predator was after the Momma she would need to abandon her nest maybe for hours?....Eggs and embryos are a lot tougher than people think....Awesome to know that after two days they are still able to hatch....Congrats!

Three hours isn't much. Many of us have experienced much longer than that with broody hens or incubators and still had great hatches. By 15 days the chicks are generating some heat themselves. The egg is so dense the surface may cool off quickly but the core temperature doesn't cool off that fast. Your incubator should be well enough insulated so the temperature doesn't drop off that fast anyway. For many reasons I think your eggs should be fine.
