My electric went out for about 2 hours today. My incubator was hooked up in my husbands vehicle. When I went to get it out it was at almost 45 c. I candled the eggs and seen a couple moving but what is the likely good that may have done majordamage? Some I couldn’t tell....someone told me to float test but I feel it is way to early for that... lockdown is tomorrow.

I should have just left them in the house, I’m sure the temp going low is better then to high. I’m hoping it was a very short amount of time (I’m thinking an hour or two) so HOPEFULLY I still have some hatchlings.

:fl
Have you calibrated your thermometers?

We accidentally left ours in the sun and it went to like 43c for a bit and was fine. The eggs hatched a day early. The eggs take a good while longer to heat up than the incubator so just depends. I'd let em sit and see what happens! Might just get a bit of an early hatch.

I have high hopes! Tomorrow would technically be lockdown so I candled them today and all 5 were bouncing around in the egg!

Yep I honestly think you will be fine. Maybe a bit early hatching but temp wasn't insane and it wasn't for long. It wouldn't have went right to 42 it would have climbed up. The eggs are all chick and liquid and take much longer than the air in the incubator to heat up.

I have been looking out for early pips! I go tomorrow to pick up some silkies from a popular breeder here in Florida and I’m hoping they don’t try anything while I’m gone. This is my first incubation hatch so I have been on pins and needles to say the least. Lol
