Power outage What kind of odds am I looking at

We had a power outage for about 2 hours, eggs set last Friday and this Sunday in a GQF 1270 cabinet.
The temps dropped inside the incubator first hour down to 90, second down to around 80.
Never had an outage here before, but not I got a whole lot of eggs set and this happens

Do you think they will hatch?

I'm going to look into battery backup or a generator because this is horrible!

I wouldn't give up on them. I have seen similar posts on here where the temp has dropped into the 80's and they still had chicks hatch. Good luck!

Its getting worse, darn it pg&e! I might lose 2 chicks now, ones almost gone and the other seems weak.
they were 2 of the last ones to hatch and were not strong due to that, but they were walking around and acting normal before all this.

You have a really good chance of them making it, as two hours is a very small amount of time, also. I had a power outage for 22 hours in the middle of the blizzard this winter, and they all died, as it got down to 54 in the 'bator(no heat in the house either). I hope they get the power fixed for good. Good luck!

Thanks, I hope they make it, that would be a terrible loss of life, sorry yours didn't survive.

Sad news is the little bantam dorking did not survive the night. The orp is still hanging on, he spent the night in the incubator and is back with the others because he was upset being alone, I'm still giving him a bit of sugar water, and added some grogel to the brooder for him.

Mine made it threw a 24 hour outage mid winter an they survived. My incubator is a fridge outside an I did not touch it.

As long as you keep the incubator CLOSED, outages can be survivable. I have insulated with blankets before, but careful to to block the ventilation.

As I have moved more than I ever care too in life and the bator goes with me, lol I have done 3-4 hours wrapped in towels and the egg had no problems.
In the past for major outage, I used a bathtub/shavings and put some non broody hens in the complete dark. They will naturally bed down. I had the eggs under them.

I second the using a hen in a dark room to keep up the temps.
It does work. Just make sure the hen is one that is actually laying at the time.

Maybe it would be a good idea to add some of that foil bubblewrap insulation over the outside of the cabinet. I think after this until we get some sort of backup I'm not incubate more than will fit in the cooler warmer fridge, so it could be loaded up and plugged into the car then moved somewhere with power if needed.
