I don't know what to do.......my power went out and baby chicks don't have their heat lamp. I have them in the small box I brought them home in and put them between my legs under covers with holes to breathe. What else can I do???? We have a well so no hot water.....

It sounds like you are doing what you can. Be sure they get plenty of oxygen and try to make provision for them to get water and food. Has the temperature dropped a lot inside your house? How old are your chicks?

I made something akin to a Woolly hen when the same happened to me. I cut strips from an old towel, tied knots at one end of each strip and threaded the strips through holes I made in the top of a cardboard box. Cut an opening in the box, so that the chicks can get out, should they wish. More details on the link below:

Good luck

It is around 63 degrees......not sude how old they are just got them the same day this happened. Not sure how to give them food and water while they are in this little box without them getting cold.

If your power hasn't come back on yet, and you have a gas or wood stove, and you have a little water (yes I know you have a well) ... you could heat the water to about 100°f and put it in a water bottle - heating pad for them ... or heat a brick up a little ...

The wool hen is also a good suggestion ...

Your vehicle should also have a heater ...
