Power Outage

OK,
Last night our power went out for about 6 hours. We threw two heavy blankets over the bator and hoped for the best. This is supposed to be the best hatch ever since we really have been working on fine tuning this process Should I be worried?

I read something about not putting blankets over an incubator because it smothers the eggs. I heard you're supposed open it and let them cool, then start back up when the power goes back on. Not sure...

I'd think the eggs would be just fine with what you did. The blankets wouldn't have been on there long enough to smother the eggs and would have helped retain the heat.

Better they cool off a bit for a few hours than get too hot...

Of course the only way to know for sure is candling....and/or more waiting.....
