I'm running a Brinsea Mini Advance and my area is under a tornado watch and a major storm is planned to come through in about an hour and a half. There's already 50mph winds and the power has flickered a bit.

I want to be prepared in case the power goes out for my incubator. I know you aren't supposed to open it if the power goes out but is there anything else I could do? And how long would they be able to last through the lack of power?

prepare hot water bottles to stack around and cover with blankets upon outage. We use our BBQ side burner if they need more heating.

Even water bottle for heat sinks (or eggs sized rocks)... I use them inside my incubators. filled with sand and then water to make as dense as possible and I keep inside my bator start to finish.

Good luck and stay safe! :fl

Worse come to worse, if the outage was going to last too long... I might stick them eggs in my bra or other warm part of the body. Wrapped inside a scarf around your neck. Chicks always seem happy there, so eggs should be good too. :p
