Power went out & these were my emergency brooders - Pics

I'm glad this topic came up. It's been on my mind since we will be ordering chicks soon. I'll plan to have hand warmers and soy candle ready just in case. And I can always heat water on the grill out on the deck if I have to!

My grandma always put hot water in a mason jar and wraped a dish towel around it ina cardboard box,the other day we lost power and couldnt even find a candle,my son used his gameboy for light and we dug out the propane camp stove and heated water,the chicks thought they got a new mom
 
My solution is much simpler. Cozy up with the babies under a warm blanky.
Trouble is they'll be calling me mama.



And I have a generator too but that's no fun.

I love the idea! We had the power go out with 3 - 3 day old chicks... I cuddled them to my breast for 2 hours! Dunno what I would have done if it would have been longer... I had to go to work LOL.
