Powhatan Virginia Swap Meet November 1st

We had a great time at the Farmville swap - we got 5 girls from (I think he said he was) Sharon's neighbor.

We want to go to the Powhatan swap, but now I have a question...

I want a few more but I don't really have the set up to keep the newbies isolated from the existing girls. Any suggestions? And keeping them in the house isn't an option.

Here are the pictures (sorry, they're not very good) of the girls we got in their first evening in their new home:

(Keep in my, our DD named the chickens)

Kim and Karen are in the middle - the two Jap buffs

And last but not least, my tame sweet EE girl, Cookie:

One last one of Cookie trying to figure out what Karen and Kim are doing...

I'll try and get better ones this evening.

November 1st is within the next 10 day sight of weather forecasts - I've already threatened the weatherman, and it appears like the threats are working!

As of today, November 1sts forecast is:

Partly Cloudy
68 Degrees

Woohoo!

I'll be there again too. You keep threatening the weather man, AVandrie!

So - Who's bringing chicks?

Sharon - you've got me hooked on the little chickies - they're so cute! I think that one mystery chick I bought from you is an Australorpe or Barred Rock - do either of those sound familiar?

Barred Rock possibly. I did have some of those at the Farmville Swap. I'll be bringing chicks again and so will Brandon. The worst part is I have 2 bators FULL of eggs that won't hatch until after the Powhatan Swap.

I'll also be bringing New Zealand baby bunnies. IF I can part with them. They are sooooo cute!

Darn it...what breeds are in your bator?

Say, what do the New Zealand's look like? Do they get big? I need a girl for a friend of mine. She has one that is black and white, and she wants a companion for her.

In the bator I have Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, Buff Orpingtons, Silver Laced Wyandottes and Cuckoo Marans.

The New Zealand rabbits are a large rabbit averaging 9 to 11 lbs. I have blues and blacks. $10 each

I also have a 1 year old doe who is brown and white. I am unsure of the breed. She is brown and white and has been an inside pet, though I currently have her outside. She is $5 and a medium sized rabbit.

Hello all, we had a bit of an incubator problem here with our silkie eggs (all died at 19 days) does anyone have some chicken eggs of some type we could have to try again? I am not at all sure what caused the problem and I don't want expensive eggs to try this out on again in case it was something we did. It was so sad opening those eggs and finding perfect full grown dead chicks inside. I could pay a few dollars, hopefully from a pen where you know they are fertile so if something goes wrong we know it was us and not the eggs.

By the way thank you all for your help at the Farmville meet. I was the clueless one selling the three chickens that you helped me price. I can't stay long at this next meet but I can bring my son (maybe I should cover his eyes near the chicks) this time and since I won't be chasing chickens in the dark I can probably get there earlier this time! That was a definite newbie problem that I hadn't anticipated.
