Pox or canker?

Just in case anyone is paying attention, it is fowl pox. No more internal plakes. It looks worse and she has definitively lost condition, but she is on the mind. The second one has not had it so bad and the other two with her haven t been affected yet. I have the vaccine but am waiting for my 5 week old chicks to reach 8 weeks so I can get everyone at once. I did also order the meds for canker so I have it on hand now.
I personally don't like cliff hangers.

It is not necessary to vaccinate any chickens who have had the pox virus already. They will be immune to that strain in the future. I just saw your last post and am glad to hear that you have only pox and not canker. Canker smells very rotten, and many say that is how you can tell any yellow plaques inside the beak from pox, since pox does not smell bad. Metronidazole is one of those antibiotics that is frowned upon in chickens since it can cause antibiotic resistance. So, it’s good that you don’t have to use it this time. That said, many vets still prescribe it for certain protozoan infections.
