PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

That's the thing =\\. I could get NPIP right now, and could even show now, but should not and will not. I feel let down, I felt safe buying from NPIP breeders.
One of the show people said that commercial flocks test & cull for it because it can affect egg production, and that most non-commercial flocks have it at one time or another.
Mine had Myco Gallisepticum & Synovium. My vet said it was not guaranteed to transmit in eggs, but not to share them just to be safe.

Oh, wow... So, even if I close up my chickens in buildings and keep the waterfowl in their enclosures, there is still much more to worry about so that I could maybe, possibly show? NPIP is expensive in our state and to hear this is discouraging. So, now my question would be if there is truly going to be any point in jumping through these hoops and having a bigger poultry project than I ever set out to do (so it can hopefully hit a break even point someday and pay for itself) just so I can show at one, maybe two, shows a year? Looks like I have a TON more research to do, but that's going to have to wait till after the sun goes down.

Capayvalleychick, btw, looked for you Saturday, but never did find you to say Hi so "Hi!!"

Hi Laurie,
This is an interesting, if somewhat technical, report, but only about 3 pages long if you skip the part in Portuguese! http://www.scielo.br/pdf/pvb/v29n7/09.pdf
Although not set in the US, it has interesting information. What are you going to do about the chicks you are getting from Jeremy?
