PPBA Show in Stockton, CA in January?

There definitely weren't any LF gold-laced wyandottes. A bunch of SL, and a handful of BLRs plus some other types, but no gold-laced.

I was really surprised at how few large fowl there were this year in comparison to previous years. It seems like every year the bantam building gets bigger and bigger and the LF gets smaller. I'm wondering if this is because smaller lots in CA these days means bantams are easier to keep, or if chickens are becoming more of a kids thing, or if it's just this show (I've never been to fresno or humboldt).

BUT it was good to meet everyone again! I apologize for not being around much on BYC this year. I'll try to keep up.

We saw a Bantam pair FS there, but we want LF. Also want Show Quality, but they weren't even close.

With that said,

Anybody interested in going in on an order from Pauls Poultry? Minimum order is 12, I want about 8 (Maybe More). You pay for the chicks you want, I pay for the ones I want, and we split the Shipping. Shipping is Express flat rate of $45, plus for orders 12-17 there is a $9.50 Chick Cozy Shipping carton charge, No $9.50 charge if we order more than 17 chicks . Still Haven't talked to DH about buying from paul yet, but just wanted to see if there would be interest in sharing an order.

I got the list because I was supposed to be an exhibitor, but found out (Friday) two of the birds I wanted to take were mycoplasma positive, which means all are considered exposed. Totally healthy in appearance. I sent blood to the lab just to check because we had it here last year. Some of the breeders said don't worry just give different antibiotics. The NPIP desk said to close the flock. I bought the birds that brought it from an NPIP certified breeder. NPIP only tests for Pullorum & Avian flu... a breeder told me when they found Flu in the show barn one year the ENTIRE barn of birds was destroyed. Myco testing is optional... the good news is that they can now test eggs... so I'm sending some and will be able to share hatching eggs if they are negative.
ETA: The vet said my car is safe... it is transmitted by droplet... so birds in their own box in the back of the car were not at risk.

Which type of mycoplasma?
Do the show people test for it? Can you not show a bird that tests positive?
So, can you get NPIP certified if you have had myco in the past with your current flock?

That's the thing =\\. I could get NPIP right now, and could even show now, but should not and will not. I feel let down, I felt safe buying from NPIP breeders.
One of the show people said that commercial flocks test & cull for it because it can affect egg production, and that most non-commercial flocks have it at one time or another.
Mine had Myco Gallisepticum & Synovium. My vet said it was not guaranteed to transmit in eggs, but not to share them just to be safe.

Hi Kelsey,
I was noticing this morning that Dickhorstman is offering many colors of the Cochin eggs, including the Gold Laced variety in the hatching eggs for sale section from exibition quality parents.
