I have a Rooster lame with severe bumblefoot I’ve been treating for several weeks now, the swelling is moving up his leg now. I have been treating him with Baytril (day 7 today with little improvement) that I had on hand while my fingers are crossed for getting some stronger antibiotics. I found some leftover Veraflox from my cat’s treatment and upon looking it up read that it is quite effective against certain strains of Staph infections. Does anyone know if this is safe for use in chickens? He’s basically a pet, so no worries on food stream antibiotic complications...
I did remove the kernel and stringy nasty things as well as a lot of liquid pus and bleeding the first week.
hoping for solutions because I am very close to having him culled, but I really want him to recover as he is the sweetest boy ever.
