This is gonna sound harsh but the girl needs to grow up. She's got a boil in a delicate spot and refusing proper treatment is just plain acting stupid (I was looking for another word but really it fits the situation). Sorry but if it were my daughter at 16 and she was making a poor choice regarding her health I'd call in the orderly's and have her restrained. I can't help but think about what the kids that are going through cancer that have to have radical treatments and how brave they have to be. They'd sure's heck rather be in your daughters shoes. Maybe a little tough love is in order. My apologies for sounding harsh.

She needs to suck it up and get it drained! Boils rarely pop on there own and the fork...dear god! That probally made it worse~

She will feel better after!! Maybe they can use a topical numming ointment and then stick her. Listen at one time , i think everyone has been afraid of needles. I have 15 tattoo's and can't look when getting a needle, more the blood thing but never the less. She will feel sooo much better.

And a doctor who recommends a shot of antibiotic's must think it's bad

God forbid it becomes a hunchback cyst

I agree... I didn't force the issue at the doctors office because I know I couldn't hold her down plus there was alot of children and i didn't want her to upset them... I chose her doctor because he is am awesome doctor... he doesn't do anything unless he thinks its really necessary... he always gets the docor of the year award and he really cares about his patients... My husband is going with me to the ER so he can help deal with her... I had boils unde my arms one year and had to have them lanced.... i know what she is going thru and I tried to tell her that she will feel 100 percent better when the drain it... My dad used to be a medic in the air force and he says it probably started as an spider bite .... my daughter says it felt like something bit her... she has been faithful about taking her meds... at least i know she wont be shooting up drugs with syringes anytime soon(lol)
