Prayer request for one of our own (Some news pg. 13)

Thanks for the prayers. Yogiman has a "preliminary" diagnosis.

Well, Yogiman finally got some test results back. His doctor called and said that the preliminary test results show that he has Crohns Disease. He will have to go have more blood taken and then they are going to send the blood out of state for testing and that will take 7 to 10 days to get the results back.

I do not know what treatment the doctors are going to give him, but I hope that it works very fast. He is still losing weight at a dramatic rate.

I do not know very much about Crohns Disease, but that it is VERY painful. Another friend of mine has it and has suffered for a long time with it. I should have saw this coming, with helping my friend deal with hers, but did not.

I am going to do some research on Crohns Disease and see what I can find out.

Thanks,
Dorothy

Oh, thank goodness. Crohn's is treatable, if miserable to live with. I was afraid it was much worse. What a relief! Strong thoughts with him in his treatment and recovery.

Prayers going your way Roger. Hope you feel better soon

* ESP's (extra special prayers) for you, Yogiman!! I miss you. Still think about that tornado that you dodged and how you dashed out for the chickies and how mad you were that your sweetie left her phone in the car when you called to check on her!!! Be strong!! We love you. Lots of hugs (gentle ones). Get well soon!!!!

Crohn's is very serious.

My cousin is in his 40's and is in the last stages of Crohn's-stage 4, stage 5 being death. He was diagnosed early on. He was miserable and thought he'd never make it to age 30. He has had many surgeries and can not afford another...he doesn't have that much intestine left to be able to. He's had the feeding tube and the colostomy bag...

He can go on the transplant list but even that surgery is not a full proof surgery to his health and wellness. To recieve this he has to be on medical plan a and he has plan b. Plan A doesn't take into affect until July...who's to say he can hold out that long?

He also had a staph infection in his knee replacement and no matter what they tried it would not be remedied. They had to go back in and take it out and scrape the cartilage where the staph was present but antibiotics can not reach to heal because cartilage has no nerve endings to carry the drug down into...

We are all praying that he can overturn this with his insurance to go ahead with the surgery...and that everything falls in place for him to match a donor and that the surgery may bring comfort and renewed life.

In his 40 some years of life he is a very successful business man, loving, great friend, recently married to a wonderful woman who has stuck by his side....very loved by his family....

So as you can see....though his position at this point is dire....he achieved much in his life and stands with the hope of what tomorrow shall bring.

It is in my cousin's spirit and faith in Our redempter...that I reach out in prayer and say....May the Lord bless you and keep you and may you know no bounds to God's mighty love, In Jesus' name. Amen.

Love in Christ,
Gretchen
