So, Ken is employed, however it is very different kind of set up. The guy he met with has been wanting Ken for a long time and Phil as well (Ken's former co-worker). He is fronting his own personal money to start up a new business and Ken will be doing all the IT work, Phil the sales - used cars. Ken and Phil together at his old job made quite a bit of money doing that. Ken's commission for website at the old place was 1% and he used to make $500 a week on top of his salary, and Phil made $12 k a month! This guy is part owner of the largest car dealership up here, and used to own all the Cinemark theaters here, which he recently sold.
Apparently, this is guy finds a good business opportunity, finds the people to build it, and moves on to the next project. So at the end of all this, the business will belong to Ken and Phil. Not traditional employment by any means, but Phil and Ken are going to get together tomorrow and come up with a budget that will include their salaries.
Wow, it sounds like a great opportunity, Debi! If this guy knows what he's doing (and it appears he has a history of running successful businesses), the sky's the limit!
