How's your mom?

My son is busy working on his new house next door to me. It is a mess, but we knew that, it will be quite awhile and money before he can move into it.

boooooooooooo!

Thanks for the birthday wishes my favorite lunch lady!

Mom went to her oncologist this week and I know she is scheduled for an MRI next week. She had to go cold turkey--no pain meds--over the weekend so she could see him in her natural state. So she was in pain but now he prescribed her some more pain meds until they can get this figured out. But she is functioning better than before but that could just be the pain meds masking it? dunno.

Guess what???? Zoe has feild days tomorrow and I'm a volunteer!!!! That's basically a day of p.e. or run around fun play time if your a kid. And next tues. I volunteered for their feild trip to a dairy farm. moooo.

I'm so excited to hear about your son and his new place right next to grammies!!!! That will be so great. Can't wait till they get to move in.

Your grandbabies are gonna get spoiled with chicks and ponies!!!

So far we have 9 baby chicks hatched out at home. 4 black copper marans, 2 bluey ee's, and 2 of my mutts who are probably crosses of my delaware and 1 bluey ee roo from last springs hatch cuz they are yellow and black/brown or grey? dunno mottled. sooo cute. Still got 4 baby duck eggs in there too.

Did I mention the 2nd graders at Zoe's school hatched out 2 of our duck eggs? Roeun drake and Pekin female. They said they were precious...yellow with black heads and spots and spotted feet.

I didn't get to see them because they went home with a 2nd grader for the night the day I was there. drats.

Ava's getting anxious and I've got feed to deliver to those babies. Better wrap it up.

I miiiiiiss alll of yoooou!!!

It's been rainy and wet and cold and yucky out lately! I'm ready for some 60-70* weather. and ouch my sinus's...my kids are cootie spreaders!!! waaaa...my face hurts.

but other than that I'm feeling pretty good.... cardiac rehab is going great and physical therapy seems to be working on my other issues. Now I'm not so on fire like before....aaaah.

I wish it would dry up though so I could mow and do some much needed yard work.

hugs and talk to you later,
gretch

This week at school, the students are learning to dance in the cafeteria. So they have to eat outside, and I have to route them through my kitchen out the back door. Each grade goes in and learns for 1/2 hour, all day long. So its like a party at work for me all day with music blasting. When the preschoolers are dancing, I go dance with them, they do the chicken dance! Its fun, but oohh, today my legs were sore cuz you have to bend all the way down with your knees. I be outta shape for that one, but I did it again today anyway!
Then Fri night they will perform at the high school.

I'm at my son's house, the one with my GD, and he has some sort of echo thing on his computer so when we talk or make noises it echos, and GD likes it. She turned one year on Monday.
The thing that is cool about the house next door for my other son with my GS is that he can make his cabinets in the shop there.
I gotta renew my golden feather thingy so I can post more pics again.

I hope all is well with your mom.

Sat I went to a party at my sister's, not the one with the horses. Then Sun morn we were suppose to meet for breakfast but she called and was in hosp with heart trouble, and they took her for an angiogram. Well her arteries are clear but they diagnosed her with, uh oh, I forgot, but its nickname is octopus heart. So anyway, it is reversible, get rid of some stress and take meds for a few months.
So Monday when she got out of hosp, she took my yet other sister for a ride on her can am spyder motorcycle. Well, that is relaxing for her, to go for a cruise, silly girl, just having surgery and all. But she is fine.

eta: I looked it up real quick takotsubo

Hiya boo!

Wowsers...I've never heard of that one before. So happy to hear it is reversible. ha! relaxing by taking a ride on a motorcycle...oh well, sounds fun. Glad she is feeling better.

Mom has gone for an MRI today so we will see what they say....

Molly has diarrhea here and there. She had it when I got her. Gotta get that checked. It comes and goes. She's such a pup...she steals the girls toys, shoes, and eats anything and everything...concentrating on chicken and duck poo when she's outside. Then she likes to give kisses. ick. And she takes lots of puppy naps. She's very playful and I love hearing all the giggles when the girls are playing with her. And she jumps up on ya so we are working hard to discourage that... I don't like muddy paws on our clean clothes.

So a week ago we hatched out 9 chicks...some black copper marans and some of blueys churkey broody hens and some ee's and like 1 or 2 of mine. I forget exactly. Anyway, they are cute...lots of black ones and some have fuzzy feet and some tan and darker brown mottled chicks and a couple yellow fluffy faced ee's.

And then 3 days ago we hatched out 3 mixed duckies from our eggs. They are black and yellow mix---Rouen drake and Pekin mama. They are CUTE!

Then on Mon. we brought home 6 baby ducks from the 2nd graders---2 our from our eggs but they are older now...man, ducks grow big fast. And then one is a Pekin and then 3 are mallards and smaller.

On Tues. I went on a feild trip with Zoe to a cheese factory, a park for lunch, and then to a dairy farm. The kids enjoyed the "squeaky cheese" cheese curds. Mommy bought some curds, munster, and colby for home and to share with Grandma for watching Ava so much lately. And at the dairy farm Zoe was the first one to stick her hands in a baby calf's mouth to get suckled to death and worked up a nice slimey froth. ha ha ha. Then she chased the boys with her slimey hand.
tongue.png
A couple of other girls eventually got up enough courage to be suckled. Then the dairy farmers fed us all icecream. The kids said the baby cows were their favorite part of the field trip.

I thought some of the boys would say it was when Zoe got peed on by a toad at the park...but no, it was the baby cows.
tongue.png
Zoe is great...she goes right in there and picks up the toads that the boys were too afraid to pick up. I love my country girl.

Anyway,
My "d" is scheduled for May 28th. I'm nervous just because...it will deal with custody and all and I just want to make sure my lawyer is really doing right by me and the girls. There's so much to figure and then there's my childhood home and my sister's and mom are really not here for me. My mom is going on vacation the day of my "d", oh well. So please continue to pray for us.

Our gas was shut off now too. It got cold but we managed with warm jammies and lots of blankets. What a weird May. Where's that warm weather? We get a day of nice and then it goes back to brrr and wet. I fill up my corn boiler and a couple of dutch oven pots to make a small bath or I head over to Grandma's sometimes for baths. I'm at her house now but dial up is a bear...don't know how you do it, boo. I like the library better. Still waiting on the utility assistance and hope it kicks in soon before they decide my electric needs to go. sigh.

Life is life and you just keep on riding and going down that road no matter what bumps are set out before you.

I keep playing phone tag with the CPR guy and I've got to finish up my packets for SSI and also for my license for home daycare....so best get a move on. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel but dang it...why's it got to be such a loooong tunnel!

Love ya and miss ya all,
hugs,
gretch

oh yeah, and me and the girls are still trying to get over this virus.

Ava's got a bladder infection and Zoe is seeing double so I have to take her in to a special clinic to check that. sigh sigh sigh.

So help me Lord.

oh and funny... my blue orp has gone broody on not fertilized eggs cuz i sold all my roos! blast it!!! I wanted a broody so bad and now I've got one and the only roo I have was hatched out around easter and too tiny to do any good right now...oh well.... patience I guess.

so do i let her set on those eggs? she growls at us if we try to move her and then we took the eggs and she found some more the next day. funny chicken.

Quote:
Collect the eggs every day. The others will probably continue to lay under her, mine do. And do not worry about trying to break the broodiness. It usually doesn't work. She'll set for about 2-3 months, she will get up and drink at times, and make the biggest poopies you ever saw! ha ha
Then, when your roo is old enough, she'll actually have some fertilized eggs to hatch and you'll be a happy camper!!

I'll be thinking and praying for you on Friday.

my dear friend.

Well, its been nearly 3 years since my sister gave me that horse trailer. Its my first horse trailer. And the only time I got to trailer my horse somewhere was that day I took Rosie to the beach, and then she refused to load to come home, after all my hard work with her and getting her to load nicely, over a hundred times prior to the real run. But it was a new location etc, and she was not wanting to go in. And I had to call for help, remember all that?
So, I've loaded pony into a couple times, but DH's vehicle decided to have overheat problem if we hauled the trailer, so I still have not gotten to enjoy the trailer and go to the beach.
But, this weekend he is going to install a new fan thingy and another part and hopefully that fixes the problem. He wants to take me and my pony to the beach so bad!
As a teen, I always wanted a horse trailer. I never got one. When I wanted to ride my horse in the parade, I would ride my horse the 15 miles into town to do it. If I wanted to go to the beach, I rode the 6 miles there to do it. I had come to the conclusion I would never own a trailer. Then my sister gives me her old one, and I'm excited, but then DH got laid off work and lost his vehicle, and we had to buy another one, and Rosie did that, and then the overheating problem, and well, I just decided my riding days are probably over. I am too scared to ride on the roads anymore, all the crazy traffic and stuff now days.
So, I am a little scared, and wondering if I'll be able to do it. After all these years, and now I am an aching grammie, trying to learn something new. Its not all that simple learning to load and haul a horse. Once you've got it down, simple as pie, but me and my darn fears. But, I'm sure pony will get in, and he will have fun at the beach, and he won't buck me off, and well, this could be a new beginning for me!
Talk about patience! lol

Today we are going to Laguna Seca for awhile, to watch races. Then DH will work on his vehicle, we are still waiting for the second part to arrive that he ordered. One part is a fan, and the other part is something I forgot what he said. hee hee
I'll ask him later, he is getting up now and showering, then I will get in shower and then we'll be on our way.

Good day!

Holy COW does she have huge poops!!!
lol.png

and she is sitting on EVERYBODY'S eggs like 9 or so? ok, I'll take them from her. Today she goes RUNNIN out and pecks the grass a few times and then rolls in the dirt and then runs back to her eggs and growls at us when we approach. I love it. She's all FAT and FLUFFY and spread out over all those eggs.

Today one of the 4 turkey juvies did a fancy feather showing...think that's male behavior huh? I'm new to turkeys--I have no idea what I have sex wise. It spread it's butt feathers wide---you know like a peacock does? And then it fluffed it's other feathers and pointed it's arms and stood precariously next to the others who pretty much ignored him and pecked the dirt. ha ha ha.

And we let our baby ducks go for a swim...it was fun. and we showed our neighbor teens who had a few friends over for some smores and a cookout our new babys and one chicken pooped on one of the girls. te he he. How cute am I now? pbt.

nighty night boo,
love,
gretch
