Keeperofthehearth-My BIL has kidney cancer and has had a kidney removed. He is also diabetic and his other kidney isn't working as well as need be so he is on dialisis. BIL is 64 and while there are good days and bad, he is doing good. I pray your Dad's hasn't spread any further. If they can get it with the surgery it's a lot easier than the meds my BIL has to take now that his has spread.

My DH has one kidney. It was removed when he was around 19. He's in his mid-40's now and very healthy. I pray the same for your dad, no matter what his age.

Again, I want to thank you all for your prayers. My dad isn't scheduled for surgery until tomorrow around 1pm. I hope to have an good update by tomorrow eve. He is a stubborn man if that helps at all.

He told me not to come to the hosp. since EVERYONE else will be there & to come on Thurs. Right, as if that's going to happen. I told him there was no reason for me to not be there both tomorrow and thurs.
