My all time favorite breed in 100% Barred Rocks. They are BEAUTIFUL and lay 300 eggs a year. They don't tire out at 2 and can go on for way longer than other breeds. They are very cold hardy and have wonderful temperament's.

I agree with this, barred rocks are also an excellent choice!

The WLH. And that's the reason I won't keep them any longer. That high production rate wears out their little bodies and kills them young.
