Preaching to the Choir - 4 Shocking Secrets About Fast Food

I guess I don't get what is so bad about this. Cold water fish is considered healthy. I realize "battered and fried" anything isn't great, but no chemical or additive is mentioned, and I've never considered any fish to be beautiful, so I don't get the point about the "ocean's ugliest creature."

DD12 is allergic to lab chicken among other of the finest fast food ingredients. Carageenan and Autolyzed anything....is hidden MSG, they just put it in a pretty new dress and heels and made it walk the plank into the deep fat fryer at Mickie D's

It's not just Chinese food anymore it's everything!!

Thank you! That's what I'm sitting here thinking!

I was just saying to my DD tonight as we ate store bought chicken

that we truly don't even know what we are eating if you really get honest about it. I mean the chicken is full of all kinds of growth hormones and who knows, maybe penicillin. We don't know for sure what's in them and they don't have to tell you. How many know that cows are not grain eaters? They are grass eaters. But they are fed all kinds of other animals, grains, litter from poultry houses that can include newspaper
along with poo poo. We have way more to worry about than just Mad Cow Disease.

I eat any "junk" food I want! BUT my rule is I have to make it myself. That includes pretzels, chips, crackers, fries - almost anything. You'd be amazed how easy it is to make your own and it almost always tastes better. At least I know what's in it!

I'm also developing a strong phobia about other people preparing my food. Seems every year I get more and more grossed out wondering if the kitchens are clean and if the people preparing food are using sanitary practices.

Do you make soft pretzels? If so I want the recipe.

I just made them last night

Here's the recipe I used and they were good. I made pretzel "nuggets" and rolled them about as thick as your thumb. The actual pretzel took too long to roll out and twist

I gave the chickens the leftovers this morning because they don't keep well and are best out of the oven. Next time I'll try putting in whole wheat in place of the white flour.
