I'm needing a new coop for a small separate flock. With my main flock I was able to do a conversion building - and had my dad to help me out. I'm not quite so handy as he is so can't build a whole coop by myself. I don't necessarily need it to be a prebuilt "coop" but do need a prebuild building of some sort that only needs minor adjustments (adding perches, nesting boxes, etc...) I don't really want to buy one of those from TSC because they are often tiny and have major predator protection issues. I also need it to be relatively cheap. I can do some adjustments for predator protections, but if I don't have to I'd rather not, or at least keep it minimal.

Also should add I need it to be movable.

If it helps here are some of the predators I need to protect from:

Racoon, coyotes, minks, hawk, owl, eagle, fox, (technically we have bears, but they aren't that common, plus I imagine if a bear wants my chickens no amount of hardware cloth or whatnot will stop them.), rat, possum, weasel, skunk? (not actually sure), also potentially some neighbors dogs.

Also, 1/4" or 1/2" hardware cloth?

Do any of these look like they'd be okay? (Would add ventilation.) Do they look predator proof? (If I add a good lock on the door?)

Would like it to hold ~8 chickens

Recommendations to make a movable run?

Thanks in advance.

If you need it movable those sheds will be WAY to heavy.

Metal sheds as coops have issues and they don't stand up to moving without serious reinforcing.

Are you looking at moving it every week or just when you move to a different property?

Have you considered a hoop coop?

I've never heard of a hoop coop, thanks!

I don't need to move it every week, it would probably be more like once every few months.

If I went the hoop coop route, would any of these be able to easily dig under:

rat, possum, weasel, racoon, foxes, or mink?

To deter digging predators you use a wire apron on the ground around the coop.

It's possible to fasten it so that you can fold it up and clip it to the wire when moving the coop then lay it back down in the new place and pin it with landscape staples until the next move.
