Now that temperatures are warming up we are sleeping with windows open. Most chickens in a battery of mobile pens about 125 yards from house. A single game rooster is cooped half that distance and Eduardo (free ranging game rooster) is roosting on front porch. Tonight I stayed outside working on computer when a roost pole failed in one of the battery pens. The affected birds falling to ground got all stirred up. Rest of birds in battery also made a ruckus and the single cooped game rooster followed suite, then Eduardo. Dog (pup) sitting with me also got riled and ran over to investigate. If DW allows, then Eduardo will be allowed to stay on front porch to amplify ruckuss away from house.
I can here birds away from house when nights quite but darn frogs, toads and timberdoodles create so much noise that tend I ignore the real ruckus sounds. Eduardo's alarms are well above noise volume. Poor dude is getting used for every purpose under sun.
