Don't let that experience stop you from getting feathered friends, instead let that experience help you learn! When building your coop, DON'T use chicken wire, instead go for some hardware cloth I made that mistake and now have no way changing it. I now feel like a sitting duck waiting for that one terrible day I lose my feathered babies.
