Predator Broke Into Coop Last Night - What could it be?

My duck coop
A predator ripped open a hole into our secondary duck coop last night. This coop has the old chicken wire rather than hardware cloth, which the newer coop has. This is the first time I’ve ever had any issues with predators breaking into a coop. We only use this to separate males during this time of year. Any ideas on what I could be? There were tufts of hair left behind. It’s kind of hard to tell in the pictures but any ideas would be great.

Greetings! What you have looks like raccoon fur.

I lost my entire flock, a rooster and 5 hens , to a bobcat early Easter Sunday morning in Leesville, SC. Is there a way to keep bobcats away without turning the coop into a fortress? I doubt it but thought I would ask anyway.

My best suggestion to you would be to use electric netting. Bobcats don’t like spicy chicken.

Less effective on a bobcat unless coop and run are in the middle of a field and fence is 8' tall. Any trees, other fences, sheds ect and there in.
