Back around the end of April I had 3 buff orpington hens just completely disappear. No feathers, no blood or sign of struggle, and the other girls all acted normally. My coop is inside my run (for now) which is completely fenced. But at that time the run didnt have any covering over the top. The fence is only 4 foot tall so I suspected they either flew over and got lost in the woods or something like a hawk got them. So my daughter and I spent an entire weekend putting a top over the run. Hadnt had any problems since.
This afternoon I went out to check water since its so hot outside and one of my black sex links is gone. Same scenario as before. She's just gone. Ive inspected every square inch of the run inside and out and cant find any damage anywhere. I have a Buff Orpington roo in there and he and the other ladies are acting just fine, not upset at all. We do have a coon that is in the neighborhood, but again there is no feathers blood or body.
My run and coop sit behind our garage, fairly close to the property line. The gate faces the neighbors house. We've lived here 4 months and these particular neighbors have gone out of their way to make sure we know that we arent the kind of people they want living here. My husband really thinks they are opening the gate long enough to let one or two out and closing it back.
Also keep in mind I have another coop in full view of my sliding glass door with 14 Cornish X in it, same set up, and not a single one of those or our rabbits have disappeared.
But, before I jump on hubby's anti-neighbor bandwagon, are there any predators that could get inside a locked run and would carry off a full-grown chicken without any signs? We live in Southern Indiana, near the White River. Thanks!

. Are game cams very expensive? The coop is pretty far from the house and theres no electric back there. Ill have to ask hubby if he can set something up. Thanks again!
