Meyer Hatchery has a flashing red light that the advertise to deter predators. It is solar powered and comes on at dusk. It is reported to keep things like racoons and other pests away. Has anyone tried these? Do they work? Is it worth the 25.00?

I have no experience with the device you are describing. Although deer and animals get accustomed to the flashing light on my game camera. I would guess that for a short time, it might deter some predators. Eventually they will get accustomed to it, or real hungry and decide to get your chickens anyways.

Toyed with the idea... heard from too many that it doesn't work as well as promised. Have to have more than one (set up a perimeter), move 'em around frequently, have some at high/low levels. Even then, most people have told me animals get accustomed to 'em. But, no personal experience with them...
