Predator Proof Coop and Run: Will my ideas work?

My coop and run keep evolving constantly. Increasing security and ways to expand. My family think I am crazy. I had no idea I would be learning so many things, and loving every minute. (Well, maybe not all the sore muscles!)

If you are using nylon or poly aviary netting on top the coons can get through it. Remember coons can climb most anything including steel siding.
If the chickens are in a (raccoon proof) coop at night, would the plastic aviary netting work? I'm assuming that coons are nocturnal and won't bother the hens during the day. Would the aviary netting work well enough to keep hawks out? Does the netting need to be tight or is some slack ok?

Sorry for the endless questions!

My family thinks I'm totally nuts getting chickens! I don't worry about anyone thinking I'm a bit nuts. On my own and 68, work full time, I can do whatever I want to and be the crazy gramma. :celebrate
