Predator proofing

In the past I have had issues with predators getting in my coop. I have taken precautions to prevent some attacks but I am wondering about electric hot wires vs strong hardware cloth. In your opinion which is cheaper and more efficient in the long run? Right now I have regular chicken wire on the front of my coop and on the run of another coop the holes are fairly large and I was thinking about putting hardware cloth over the top.
Also, if you have any tips on detering animals like fox’s please let me know.

You should replace all chicken wire with hardwire cloth. I would use a hotwire if you have a predator presence.
