predator resiant roosting boxes

it is 6 boxes 2'x2'x2' which can be latched at night or latched open during the day so i don't think cramed would apply here it gives the care giver a choice . so the answer to your question is it is for both egg laying and safe sleeping?

Boomerge,
You need to look in the coop section of this website to see what the essentials are in a coop for space, laying, roosting, ventilation and good health. Locking them in boxes ain't it.

If you could supply pictures and more of an idea what you have, it would be helpful. Are they designed for inside another coop, stand alone in a run, etc. ?????

I have rabbit hutches that are about that same size that I put my broody hens in with thier eggs. I put thier food and water in there and there is enough room for them to walk around a little and go to the bathroom. It works very nicely since I just had a broody hen that I let stay on eggs in the nest boxes and something got in and grabbed her. These other cages have no way for predators to enter to get to them. Very nice idea for the chickens that dont mind being in doors at night. Do you use a wire mesh door so they can see out at night? It is even large enough for 2 banties to sleep in without a problem. This thread is reminding me of that infamous 'Al Capone's Vault' show...

When can we see pictures???????? If we see what it looks like it would sure be a lot easier to give suggestions or feedback. Not to mention if your purpose here is to get sales, no one will buy it if they don't get to see it first...

reply to jkcove 08: the doors are 21"x 20" made of 2x2s and covered with 1/2" 19ga. hardeware cloth i used 1/4" 23 ga. hardeware cloth for the floor in order to protect the chickens feet and help contain the mess. the doors have a slideing latch for over night and a hook latch to allow the chickens to get to their nest. the box is 100 percent vented. pictures are on the way.

The floor in the cage is 1/4 inch 23 gage, the rest of the cage is 1/2 inch and 19 gage. The floor is shown in the sixth pic.

Thanks for your patience.
