Predator vs Cayuga Drake mid day on pond

Yes, don't quit, this is the time of year that turtles move around at night looking to mate.

Sorry about your duck! I hadn't even thought about snapping turtles, glad you got him! Around here we have had coyotes come in daylight after the chickens and ducks.

GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGLEY!

well at least we now know how to get rid of 'old snappy' down in our pond... my husband was out there for several days in the lawn chair, with a 22, yes with a beer. good heavens we are the crazy red neck neighbors!!!

honestly i think he winged old snappy... but a baited line is good too...

I didn't know snapping turtles got that big. How do you prepare them to eat?? Just curious.

Sorry you lost your pet TwoMileRanch! I agree that it is extremely hard.

On a different note congratulations on catching the turtle! There is nothing more frustrating than knowing there is a predator out there after your birds and being unsuccessful in your attempts to trap it

I have a rescued domestic bibbed mallard that was attacked by turtles, and I found almost dead on the bank. They bit the webbing out of his foot, leaving the leg swollen, infected, and mangled.

Turtle soup brings in good money now a days
