I had four hens in a back garden run. There was evidence of only one kill and yet all four birds have gone. Is it likely that a fox would have only killed one bird out of the four and then somehow carried the others off without killing them?

There is not always signs of a kill. Coyote in a pack can come in and take several at once and maybe only struggled with one and caught the others easily and just carried them off. 4 hens would be alot for 1 fox in one day, not impossible I have heard of them coming back and storing them like a dog buries a bone.
