Predators everywhere!

Skunks are weasels I think. Otherwise yes! :)
Was thinking more...

Really hope you don't have weasels in your area as they are the worst as chew right thru wire screen. You really do need outside dogs so you

Oh I have weasels. Fishers across the road, recently saw a little weasel about a half mile away, once caught a mink mid day killing chickens in my barn aisle. Caught that one by stepping on it's tail. I think they'd have been in if they could get in by now.

Never heard of weasels chewing thru wire.....maybe window screen?
The smaller ones can fit thru a 3/4" hole tho, and they are voracious hunters/feeders.

LGD's or other outside dogs can be great, but they are a huge responsibility and expense, and many don't have the resources, let alone the space or skills, to keep them.

I have room but not the hundred acres they might prefer to wander. A yappy terrier in the yard would likely even help. Problem is my last LGD ended up sleeping on my couch. I got a rough collie to work, well she didn't.

OK, gratuitous dog pics.
Rascal is 11, tho I'm pretty sure he opportunistically killed that rat, he spends most his time here:

But did have a short stint as an LGD when I was lamb sitting this spring, haha!

Had this foster for awhile a few years ago,
who had hopes of 'herding' chickens, he didn't work out long term in our pack tho.

Rascal looks like a lamb himself in that pic that's great!

I Know, Right!?
Have often called him my curly chocolate lambdog.
Tho that's a meat sheep, so hair instead of wool.
They had great fun running around together!
It was cool to experience, a bottle lamb so stuck to me like glue,
but I was just as glad when LambyRam went back home after 5 days,
and will be just as glad when he graces my dinner plate in the fall.
