Preferred method of treating for mites?

I use permethrin as last call cause I have a bunch of animal and a couple are quite sensitive and like to sneak into the coop at times so when I've seen no mites for months I just give my birds garlic mint at in there water or food so it puts off mites due to apparently impacting their blood taste
Really? I grow peppermint and the birds love it. Maybe thats why i havent had a problem with mites.

@Ninjasquirrel lok one of our goats was eating the copper rust off our bbq for some reason only to realize that being a goat requires quite a bit of mineral intake, especially copper! They now have specific copper added minerals that they lick and there have been no bbq eating since!

Just tried it again and the google translate thing came up but it said "oops this page cannot be translated." Lame.

did you call your congresscritter to support net neutrality? having lost that battle, be prepared for internet-for-the-wealthy.

so, can you just tell us what a "dutchy" is?
From that website:
"Dutchy's® are predatory mites from the Laelapidae family and are released into nature in large parts of Europe. They live in the ground and hunt there on all kinds of soil organisms. When we put these predatory mites in animal enclosures, they become fierce fighters of blood mites. They hunt after them all day long and kill them to eat them. It's a matter of time; the predatory mites almost always come out as the winner."

And I've never had mites when they've been ingesting it regularly so I can only assume it's working
If you've never had them...then there's no proof it works ;)
I've never had mites either and I don't feed my birds garlic or peppermint.
These assumptions are what starts and propagates 'false facts' about how to fight pests.
