My midwife voiced concern about me caring for the chickens, especially cleaning out the coop due to ammonia. We are in the process of building a gypsy wagon coop, and I wondered if there was anyway to build into the design to limit how much cleaning I'd have to do inside the coop beyond a poop board under the roost? Thanks!

The big box hardware store carry respirators with cartidges for various fumes. I wear a dust mask when I clean the coop or spread DE. Leave open the doors and vents will help. Hopefully your coop has plenty of ventillation so ammonia fumes are not a concern.
