Pregnant barn cat *update* We have kittens!

No signs of imminent birth or anything yet. She came out to be sociable at around 10 last night. She is back in hiding this morning. She ate a little overnight last night. She's been showing signs of nesting. I haven't seen any milk. She doesn't want any kids around right now. The babies are being really active. They pretty much cannot grow anymore. There is no more room. Any time they move you can see them. If you pet her belly you can feel little lumps sticking out.
I've felt three kittens so far. I'm pretty sure there is at least one more. The way they are spaced in her belly leaves room for at least one. I could feel almost all of one kitten yesterday. I could tell how it was positioned and how long it was and everything!

She keeps making trips to her nesting box. That's a good sign. :)

Yes! I want to have little fuzzy kittens now! It feels like I've been waiting forever! I'm not very good at that whole patience thing when it involves new babies.

Hi everyone. The waiting is hard. Just an update on Muffin's babies: Their eyes are open and DH found one halfway across the floor in their room this morning. I am missing so much being with Mom in CA. It looks like I will be here at least 10 more days.

I am missing all the fun stuff with the babies.

I'm sure you're being a big help to your mom, though. :) It must be disappointing to be missing fun new kitten stuff. I'll call 'em and tell 'em to quit doing cute stuff until you get back!

So far we have 6. We think another is on the way. She's doing really well. She gave birth to the first 2 in the litter box. -_- My mom woke me up and said "I need your help, Jack is giving birth in the litter box." I'll post more tomorrow. I'm tired. @.@ Good night.

6 in all!

She had 1 calico, 1 ginger, and 4 black kittens.
I haven't gotten a good picture. It's very hard to take a good picture without being intrusive.

Here she is. :)

Poor Mama is so tired.
She did great throughout the whole birthing process. We think the reason she gave birth in the litter box is because she thought she had to go to the bathroom.
When my mom walked out to check on her, Jack ran up to her, meowing. She (Jack) was kinda freaked out. We pulled the kittens out of the litter box. Only 1 had a lot of litter on it. I cleaned it off and gave it back to Jack. She decided to give birth right on the rug (what did I tell you? =P) so she could be with us. She wanted us to be in there, petting her. I thought that was a little weird, but I chalked it up to her being a first timer. After she had #3 she came and sat next to me and meowed until I pet her. I kept trying to nudge her to go back to her kittens but she wanted to stay next to me. Her kittens were fine, just meowing. I pet her for a minute, then she realized the kittens were calling her. She acted like "What? Me? um... *meow?* How was that?" When she would call to them they would quiet down for a second. Then she went back to them. After that she got the hang of things real fast. :)

Oh yeah! I forgot to add. Three were born just before midnight, and three were born on St. Patrick's Day! That was just a really cool nerdy realization for me.
