I realize that this is probably one of those "dumb" questions a newby will ask, but if people say "grain", do they mean goat feed pellets, or do they mean sweet feed, or what do they mean??? And when they say "oats", does that mean whole oats, or rolled oats (which I give mine and they loooooove it), or what? Sorry if I sound ignorant, I just started goat-dom.

I feed goat feed and whole oats and alfalfa pellets and hay...I dont use the sweet feed as it adds to much weight and they dont need to be overweight. Plus on the cheaper sweet feed your not really sure whats in it. I have found cow range cubes and other stuff in it.
I get whole oats as steamed or crimped or rolled oats loose waht they need. This is just what I feed and have for years. Others might disagree...

Four cups per day seems too much for her right now. I'd think that would be where you would want to end up at kidding time and then through her lactation.

Do you have another goat friend for her? Goats are very social and need another goat for company.

She's a cutie ... I love those white tipped ears!

She doesnt need extra rations while pregnant really- so long as she's already on a good healthy diet. Grass is best with free choice of salt and minerals if you're area is especially lacking of them.

She's going to need that grain when she's milking or nursing, thats when her body will be using the most energy.

Our doe was having about 2 cups a day while she was pregnant, and went up to 4 cups after kidding while she was nursing, then cut back to 2 cups at about 4 weeks, and now back to 1. she may get nothing as the grass gets better depending on how fat she gets:) good luck!
