Hello from Merrimack, NH!
I love this site and will use it as I prepare to possibly, maybe hatch chickens in my classroom. I am an animal lover!!! I'm that person who will see a stray on the side of the road and bring it to the shelter.....last time I did this I ended up owning a cute little bunny.

Anyway, never did the eggs hatching thing before, so my first question/concern is....could I possibly keep these chicks for eggs?

Ms.Gloria:)

. Yes you could keep some around for eggs assuming you've hatched some females.

! Pleased you joined us! I am glad to hear you are you are rekindling this project. Teachers used to do this a lot but it has tailed off it seems. No reason you couldn't keep the hatchlings and allow them to grow up and lay you some eggs! Good luck and have fun!

Good luck with the classroom hatch, and welcome to BYC.
