I can't comment on a comparison of the two. I have the premier and I still had to buy extra posts at tractor supply. The distance between posts is just too far and the net sags. It was a big disappointment in that regard. Mine is wired, no solar. I read that unless it is fully charged with solar it is not effective enough. Seems to work well overall. No losses since the fence was put up.

Hello, I just got my new Electric net fence and I trying to figure out how to hook it to a wired charger. We inherited a large charger that's installed in the barn already but I'm not sure how to run the power to the fence. One end of the fence will be very near the barn for now, can iI just snake some insulated wire meant for underground use and use that as a hookup? We have a fence from Kencove that does not require a grounding rod but the charger has a ground rod permanently installed already, is that okay? Thanks everyone!

I'm looking to get some electric fencing and trying to decide between the Premier Poultry net and the Poultry Net Plus. PoultryNet Plus has posts every 6.8 ft (vs. 10 ft for standard PoultryNet). It is quite a bit more expensive, so I'm wondering if it's worth the extra cost?

Also, solar vs wired electric charger? Thoughts?

If you're not planning on moving the fence often, poultry net plus is your best bet. Standard poultrynet does have a tendency to sag, but if you have a powerful enough energizer, this shouldn't affect the performance of the fence a whole lot. Keep in mind that extra posts equal extra weight--and 164 feet of standard net is already fairly heavy. You can also buy cheap electric fence posts at tractor supply for when the ground is wet and the fence really sags.
If you're going to have the fence always near an electric outlet, go with a standard plug-in energizer--they're cheaper. However, if you're using your fence where electricity isn't available, go with a solar. It beats having to deal with charging a deep cycle battery regularly. It certainly beats having to drag around hundreds of feet of extension cords like me because I was too "budget" to go with a solar energizer.
