Preparing coop for babies

We have a Marans that is due to hatch this weekend, and I just realized that her broody coop might not be chick-ready. The coop has two nest boxes, with one filled (obviously) by Daisy. The chicken access to the coop is just a hole in the floor, that they jump up to get through. Should I put in a ramp for Daisy and her babies?

you need to do something - maybe make sure the hen & chicks stay on the ground? The chicks will not be able to jump up & will follow momma as soon as she hops out.

Try a small box on the ground - it is really only needed for the first month or so.

I'm not sure if that will work, since we have predator problems.
