preparing for possible power outage

We're having an impressive lightning storm here. Power was just out for a few seconds a short while ago and I realized that I have NO PLAN B for the incubator if the power goes out.

suggestions??

How about ways to even know that it's gone out if it happens in the middle of the night?

Unless you think it may be out for twelve hours or more your best bet is to simply throw a blanket over the incubator to retain warmth. It won't hurt the eggs to cool for a few hours so long as it's not really cold. Mama hen gets off the nest most every day for a time. They're built for that.

If it really bothers you then plug the incubator into a UPS such as you would use for a computer.
