Presenting the ..............coop! PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!

I have not been clear! We had the coop built last fall. We didn't build it, sorry to say. But we ARE handy! I promise! Just not THAT handy....! The 7 weeks was 5 weeks of saying "The chickens are really getting big--we have GOT to get the inside ready for them. And 2 weeks of priming, painting, trim, putting up the shower stuff. I don't want to let you all down but the truth is, it essentially took two weeks to paint.....

(in our defense we could only do it after work and with the kids "helping")

The picture of the outside was taken in December in preparation for the whole show the coop to the inlaws Christmas thing! The 91 degrees inside was yesterday. Very very unusually hot weather for May in Iowa. Tonight there is a thunder and lightening storm. They are really getting thrown into it.

I just went in to turn off the fan. They have all been sleeping in the corner on the floor. Tonight 5 of them were crammed into the little space on top of the ramp going up to the chicken door. 3 were on the floor near the little chicken door. 7 were on the roost in front of the top left (ONLY the left!) nest box, some on top of other ones, and mr. rooster was IN the bottom left nest box all by himself. I would have loved to see the process of them getting all arranged like that. Chickens crack me up.

I'll post pics of the run when we get it done! It may be a few weeks...!

Thanks for all the ideas, I like the awning idea, that would be awesome, and I did look for a wall or ceiling mounted fan today but didn't find one. I'll look again tomorrow.
