Preserving Meat/Veggies/Fruit

I haven't been on this thread in a while because I haven't had anything to butcher... Everything is selling out faster than I can hatch.

I will be doing 4 cockerels this weekend and I will be posting the results from them. Two of them are JG crosses from the last of Squatch's offspring that I have kept. Both are barred.
The other two come from eggs I hatched given to us, I believe they are olive egger crosses.

So our processing will go like this in the next few months:

- Cockerels that are not sold
- 8 Cornish Rocks
- 4 Broad Breasted Turkeys
- Pekin Duck (unsure of the amount it depends on what hatches and sells)
- Coturnix Quail (no amount decided yet, but most likely 30+)

Yeah, I had 6 and now I have 4. He bought 2 of them.

The cornish rocks are heavier than the turkeys who are older. They are no joke!

Yeah, I will say that they are already at 3 lbs or so. I am thinking about weighing them tonight and taking pics to post. I just need to find a box or bowl to put them in. I kept all the super fat ones. They are 2.5 weeks. They will be 3 weeks on Sunday. I honestly will be butchering them at 6 weeks because I don't need them to get too big.

You could always try some at 6, some at 8, maybe even some at 10 or 9 and see what size you like best aha

And I don’t know why I thought you had so few turkeys I swore you had said you had 3 but maybe I made that up lmao cause I was thinking you were giving two away and keeping one for yourself

We kept 4 for us. I have no idea how we are going to fit those all in the freezer. I may have to buy a new one.
