Pretty crappy day...

I walked out this morning to feed the ducks and my female hooded merganser was dead. No idea what caused it. Last night she came and attacked the food at feeding time just like always and today she was totally stiff at about 10 am. Really sucks. She was going on her third year and I was really hoping for eggs this year. Does anyone know of a Florida breeder that deals with hoodeds? I'd like to replace her as soon as possible and it is way too hot to buy any birds that need to be shipped right now. The male has just been wandering the pen all day and has not eaten as far as I can tell.

I'm so sorry about your baby.

I just lost my just turned 3 y/o Pekin Duck too. It does stink!! Hope you find another for your drake and yourself.
