Pretty good hatch!

hi scotty,

if you don't mind describing the circumstances sorrounding the very impressive hatch rate - were eggs shipped? what kind of incubator did u have? did u use dry incubation or otherwise? what were your temps and rh levels? did you set eggs right away (where did they come from?) or let them rest first before setting? how many hours rest before setting? did you turn them right away?

(if eggs were not shipped, some of the questions may not apply).

i would like to learn the best practices out of this great job!

Wow! Great job! I just hatched 59 out of 72 from my own eggs last week. One of my local customers hatched 87 out of 120 so not bad. He uses Hovabators and I use A very Large homemade icechest cooler incubator in my garage and then i use my hovabator as a hatcher.

I didnt have the eggs shipped. I just gathered them from my backyard where i have lots of quail. I just have a small still air incubator and it works perfectly for me. I gathered the eggs for 2 days and put them in the egg turner, took them out on day 14 and on day 17 I had babies.

also, my temp was at 100 and my humidity was at 65, this was the 2nd time hatching for me. the first time I had 25 eggs and 19 hatched from that
