where working on lavender jubilee's this next hatch will be our first hatch from this project.Not to sure how it will turn out yet,we cannot seem to find anyone else that has this color,we have,bbs,lav cuckoo,lav,gl,jubilee,mtld,and lemon cuckoo .all large fowl. some of ours are still youngsters and not breeding yet.but they are all english and purebreeds.If we can get the lf chocolates later this summer i will be working on a kahki/and also will be working on the crele orps later this year once our source's hens start laying.We love our orp's

if i was going to start a partridge project,the first thing i would do is get a partridge rock rooster,or a partridge cochin roo if you like the more english type and cross that into my orp,you could get a purebred on the third hatch.The original Black Orpington was bred in 1886 by crossing Minorcas, Langshans and Plymouth Rocks ,if you cross these nowaday's they are nowhere near the orps we are used to seeing.Its not a hard project just like any project it just takes time,space,and money.I have been breeding different chickens for fun since i was about 7 being raised on a farm,my first project was crossing a barred rock into a rir.lol I remember my dad telling me son if i let you do this you have to keep at it.now i am 34 and its like 2nd nature to me.

I just got 8 partridge Chicks. Some are 5 days and some are 5 weeks...

I think this one is the boy. He had short stubby feathers which the wing sexing diagram showed was a male...

Some updated pics of my partridges... one of them is developing white tips on the ends of its wings, partridges can't carry mottled can they?

In the younger group this one is much bigger, had odd markings as a fluff ball and now is developing odd markings. Is this a partridge or a mix or what?
