Pretty sure my house is haunted

I'm one of those people that believe anything is possible because who the heck am I to say it isn't!!??
Regardless your house is wonderful!!!! Such character!!! And if you daughter does have a gift I just hope she learns to use it wisely and honestly.

God Bless you and yours
and thanks for sharing an interesting story.

Beautiful house!

I like your story, too. I think part of reason is that your ghosts seem to be watching you, hanging out with you, but don't want to hurt you.

My mom rented a huge old farmhouse when I was 12-14. I had a couple of things happen. nothing too drastic, but it was the FEEL of the house that was awful. When you would go up/down the stairs, you would run and not look back. Even my mom slept downstairs in the living room when my sis and I were away at Dad's. CREEPY.

Kerr - you have a beautiful home! Just gorgeous. I guess If I was associated with that house and died, I would'nt leave either. Your daughter would probably loose her gift when she gets older because "grown ups" will repeatedly tell her there is no such things as ghosts. Unfortunately.

Great story. Good luck. I think if you generally feel good about your ghosts, then it's good.

It's when it feels bad, that you might want to worry a little about it.

Please tell us more!

O.K. I never tell anyone this because they would probably think I am crazy but.... I have a front porch that runs the span of my house. I always see a man walk across to the front door and I wait for a knock, but no one knocks at first I would go to the door and see if anyone was there no one ever was. We have lived here almost 10 yrs. and he still walks my porch daily. It really doesn't bother me anymore as long as he stays outside. I am not the only one who has seen him either. I have had guests over who say "oh someones here and then once again no one. I did however find a marker in my front yard and dug down to see what it was marking. I found the ashes of someone who used to live here. NO JOKE. A little creepy. We put the ashes back and set the marker back on top and just leave it be. I suppose I wouldn't want someone digging up my loved one and moving them. I always wonder if the ashes are of the man who walks my porch? And why didn't his family move him to the new house, why would they just leave him here?

Kerr--what a beautiful house! I love the gothic windows, gingerbread trim and the pitch of the roof. IMO, patterned metal roof tiles would be perfect for this house--but, they are expensive.

Perhaps your daughter is an "indigo child". Thanks for sharing your story and pictures.

I LOVE your house! Lucky, lucky you (and your child) to get to live in such a wonderful home!

I was reading your post the other night surrounded by sleeping dogs and the cat. All was silent in my little old farmhouse except for the clicking of the keys. I had shivers going up my spine as I read your post. And then the sleeping wonder mutt started growling way back in her chest. She lifted her head, stared off into space and growled! I almost went through the roof!!!! I think she was growling in her sleep, but the timing was creepy! Eek! (I live way out in the country in a 1930s farmhouse and have an old family cemetery on my property.)

Just wanted to share. Between your post and the dog I had the daylights scared outta me!

The lights would have to come on, the stereo and t.v....after a few minutes of noise I'd be able to maybe turn off the stereo.

Kerr, Have you ever thought about getting a didgital (SP) recorder and trying to get the voices recorded? Just hit the on button and start calling out to the spirit people. You might be suprised what you can pick up.

THAT IS SOOOOOOOOO SCARY! I WONT BE ABLE TO SLEEP TONIGHT! I live in an old house too, 100 years old. Gosh, that's scary. AHHHH! scary.

RedFeathers, I had a college kid house sit for me last December and he insisted that my house was haunted. Said he heard things walking around up in the attic and that the cat would stare at the ceilling and then bolt away. I told him that the cat really liked to screw with people (and doggy) heads. I never hear or see anything so I forgot about it. Until, of course, the moment that I'm spooked from reading Kerr's post and the pupster freaks out! Eek!! It helped that the other dog and the cat slept peacefully on. Who knows? Lucy the pup is a nut anyway.
