Pretty Sure Paula is an EE...

Araucana's are rumpless, that is they don't have any tail feathers. From where I can see on this one, she looks like she does, so she's probably a EE.

She's a stunning EE.

...And she knows it.

She struts her stuff.

Yeah, her rump started developing along with her tail feathers after just a couple days. I don't really care, she's not for show or breeding, just colored eggs.

What's up with the legs, though? I thought most EE's had olive legs.

Could she be a silver pencilled wyandotte?

The legs throw me off, and it looks like she has pencilling. Could be wrong though. Either way she is stunning, and very much a girl! :love

EEs are not an official breed, and thus their genetics are subject to aaaaaaaaaall sorts of variation. The 'ideal' EE has a pea comb, beard and muff, willow legs, and lays green or blue eggs.

Hatcheries substitute, mix, match, swap, leave out, and generally slurry the above general features to their hearts' content, then mis-lable the EEs as an actual breed like Araucana or Ameraucana. I dissaprove of this because it confuses the heck out of people starting off in chickens. But it doesn't make EE's any less delightful to own.

Here's another shot that shows her feathers a bit more distinctly. I know it is hard to say now what she'll look like grown, but I like what I see so far.

Yep, no way it could be an Araucana with those tail feathers. She's very beautiful, I haven't seen a EE like that yet! And x2 with Pele.
